The short version. Booking apps rate padel players on a scale from 0 to 7. You start with an estimate from a short questionnaire, and your level moves as you play matches that count. Most club regulars are between about 2 and 4. Use it to join open matches at the right standard, not as a measure of your worth.
The scale at a glance
Roughly what each band looks like
| Level | On court |
|---|---|
| 0–1.5 | New to padel or racket sports. Learning the serve and letting the ball come off the glass. |
| 1.5–2.5 | Can rally. Starting to move as a pair and use the back glass. Lobs often short. |
| 2.5–3.5 | Solid club player. Reliable lobs, a working bandeja, comfortable off the back glass. |
| 3.5–4.5 | Strong club player. Controls the net, uses the víbora and chiquita, plays leagues. |
| 4.5–5.5 | Advanced. Tournament player with a full range of shots. |
| 5.5–7 | Elite and professional. |
How your level is set
When you first sign up, you answer a short questionnaire about your experience and other racket sports, which gives an initial estimate. After that, your level changes when you play matches that count towards levelling: the result, and the levels of the four players, decide how far you move. Apps also show how reliable your level is, which rises as you play more matches.
Using it well
- Join open matches within about half a level of your own. Too far below and nobody enjoys it; too far above and you will spend the evening collecting balls.
- Don’t panic about one bad night. Levels move gradually and recover with more matches.
- Different apps, different numbers. A 3.0 on one platform isn’t automatically a 3.0 on another.
- Be honest on the questionnaire. Overrating yourself is a quick route to an awkward hour.

Quick answers
What is a good Playtomic level?
Most regular club players sit somewhere between about 2 and 4 on the 0–7 scale. Above 4 you are a strong club or tournament player; the top of the scale is for elite players.
How does my Playtomic level change?
After you play matches that count towards your level, it moves according to the result and the levels of the players involved. Beating stronger opponents moves you up faster.
Is my level the same on every app?
No. Most apps use a similar 0–7 range but their own calculations, so levels are not directly interchangeable between platforms.
