Who we are
padelbritain.co.uk is operated by Padel Britain (“we”, “us”). We are the data controller for personal data collected through this site. Contact: hello@padelbritain.co.uk.
What we collect, and why
- Contact and listing forms. If you use the contact or add-a-court forms we receive the details you type (name, email, message or venue details). We use them to reply to you and to verify and publish venue listings. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and keeping listings accurate; consent for anything beyond that.
- Court build quotes. If you ask for padel court build quotes we receive the details you enter (name, email, optional phone, site postcode and project details). With your consent, given on the form, we share them with up to three UK padel court builders so they can contact you about quotes. Lawful basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by emailing us.
- Hosting logs. Like every website, our hosting provider records basic technical logs (IP address, pages requested) for security and reliability. Lawful basis: legitimate interest in running a secure service.
- Postcode search. The “near me” search sends the postcode you enter to postcodes.io (a free open service) to turn it into coordinates. We don't store it, and it isn't linked to you. If you choose “use my location” instead, your browser asks permission first and the coordinates are only used on the page to sort clubs.
- Newsletter. If you subscribe, we keep your email address to send the newsletter. Lawful basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time via the unsubscribe link or by emailing us.
- Maps. Our maps load map images (“tiles”) from OpenFreeMap, an open service built on OpenStreetMap data. As with any web request, your browser shares your IP address with them to fetch the tiles. No cookies are set and nothing is linked to you.
Cookies and analytics
We currently set no tracking cookies and run no advertising trackers. Your light/dark theme choice and any clubs you save are stored in your browser's local storage and never leave your device. Site search runs from files on our own site, so your searches aren't sent anywhere either.
To understand which pages are useful, we use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly service based in the EU. It sets no cookies, collects no personal data and doesn't track you across sites: it counts page views, referring sites, country and device type in aggregate. Because nothing personal is collected or stored on your device, no consent banner is needed. If that ever changes, this policy and a consent banner will appear first.
Who we share data with
Service providers needed to run the site (hosting, and an email provider to receive form messages), and, only if you ask for build quotes and consent on that form, up to three padel court builders. We never sell personal data.
How long we keep things
Form messages are kept for up to 24 months so we can follow up on corrections, then deleted. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Venue submissions become part of the public listing once verified (the listing itself contains no personal data).
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us for access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data; to restrict or object to processing; and for portability. Email hello@padelbritain.co.uk and we'll respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
We'll update this page when our practices change and update the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the site.
